These are the three NFL teams that should sign Richard Sherman before training camp.
Five-time Pro Bowl selection Richard Sherman remains unsigned in free agency.
Sherman is coming off his 10th NFL season and a 2020 campaign where he saw limited action with the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran cornerback battled a calf injury that sidelined him for all but five games that season. The injury, however, shouldn’t discourage teams in dire need of a cornerback as he’s only one anomaly season removed from his 2019 Pro Bowl season that helped the 49ers reach Super Bowl LIV.
So without further ado, here are the three teams that should add the three-time First-Team All-Pro Selection to their roster before training camp.
3. Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are coming into the 2021 season as favorites to win the AFC East. Last season the squad made it all the way down to the AFC Championship — riding off their second-ranked offense. A player that could help this team get over the edge is Sherman.
The Bills need defensive help. Bringing in Sherman means he could play opposite to their rising star cornerback Tre’Davious White. Plus, he could replace the veteran presence of Josh Norman, who’s currently a free agent. The addition of Sherman, at the right price, presents a low-risk move for the ball club.
Even if Sherman doesn’t turn out a Pro Bowl season his leadership could add character to that defense in upstate New York. Sherman’s attitude is a trait that could help this team take that next step as contenders in 2021.
