Man United will struggle to get Pogba fee, United get Eriksen boost, Bayern issue Coman statement and Pogba leaving is best in Manchester United roundup…

Manchester United will struggle to get “upward of £100 million ($134m)” for Paul Pogba in the January transfer market, claims Luke Chadwick,

There is no doubt that Pogba is one of the most gifted players in the Premier League, and can be one of the very best players in world football when he is on top of his gem for United.

But the Frenchman has never really hit the heights at Old Trafford, has been too inconsistent and has looked like a player that has been keen to move for a good few seasons now, which has meant that fans have never really seen the best of his ability.

Now Chadwick fears United will not get their full asking price from any deal and should be focusing their attention elsewhere, Quizzed on January plans for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by CaughtOffside, the former Red Devils winger said: “I still think a centre-half needs to be added.

“I’m not sure who’s out there or who’s available. The back four was really good on Saturday [against Manchester City] but a bit of competition in central defence would be really good for the team.

“In terms of getting anyone out … [Donny] van de Beek’s not had much game time, you’d like to see him get more time on the pitch.

“In terms of the Pogba incident, it seems like his agent would be more than happy to get him out in January, but I can’t see anyone paying upward of £100m for him at the moment because the performances haven’t really been there to merit that.”

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that Manchester United-linked winger Kingsley Coman is “not for sale”.

United were heavily linked with a move for Coman in the summer transfer window amid rumours Bayern were looking to cash in on the France international, but a man who still has three years left to run on his current contract ended up staying put.

But there has still been come rumours that United may be interested in signing Coman in the coming windows, However, Rummenigge says there is no chance of the talented attacker leaving Allianz Arena in the near future, as he told Kicker while waxing lyrical over his latest performance: “Kingsley is an absolute top player today, and is extremely valuable for FC Bayern.

“He often makes the difference, just when it counts the most. Kingsley is not for sale.”

The Bayern CEO added on the conciliatory words he offered Coman while he was struggling for fitness last season: “I hugged him and told him that injuries are part of the game, especially in modern football and that our medical department would do everything to ensure that he would soon be back on the field in top shape.

“Fortunately, that’s how it turned out.”

Antonio Conte has said “some players can leave” Inter Milan, with Manchester United linked with Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen left Tottenham just last season believing that he was good enough to play for a big Italian side, and his move to Milan was supposed to be the one that helped him reach the next level of his career.

However, he has failed to make any sort of impression at the Italian side and there has been constant speculation in the media that United, who are seeking to add a bit more creativity to the side, are ready to try and get a transfer deal done in the winter window.

Denmark international Eriksen was handed a rare Serie A start by Conte, but he was withdrawn after 58 minutes with Inter trailing 1-0, and Asked after the game about the performance of Eriksen, Conte refused to single the player out.

“I evaluate everyone’s performance,” Conte said. “I don’t like to speak about single players, the general performance was positive, for what we created and for our reaction against a difficult team to face.”

Paul Pogba leaving in January would be “the best thing for Manchester United”, says Paul Ince.

Questions continue to be asked of the World Cup winner’s ongoing presence at Old Trafford, with his agent, Mino Raiola, keeping the rumour mill ticking over with regular public outbursts.

And With that in mind, Ince believes a parting of ways would now be the best option for all concerned, with another window of transfer opportunity set to open in the New Year, The former Red Devils star told Stadium Astro : “The best thing for Manchester United is for Paul Pogba to leave.

“I actually thought, when they signed [Donny] van de Beek, that they were preparing for Pogba to leave.

“But they clearly aren’t as Van de Beek didn’t get on [against Manchester City], which is embarrassing for me.

“I don’t envisage him being at the club by the summer. He’s got to go – he wants to go. I think it’s best that both parties part ways.”

Pogba is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, and although United would be losing a massive star in the squad, they need to make changes quickly.
