American J.J. Mann (198-PF-91) had a great game in the last round for Bayer Giants and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents ProA Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 29-year old power forward had the game-high 33 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Bayer Giants in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Kirchheim (#8, 14-13) 105-94. Bayer Giants maintains the 5th position in German ProA. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Bayer Giants will need more victories to improve their 16-10 record. In the team’s last game Mann had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Bayer Giants’ top player in his first season with the team. J.J. Mann averages this season 15.5ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 23-year old American point guard Jack Pagenkopf (190-PG-97) of Ehingen. Pagenkopf impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Ehingen to another comfortable win 88-69 over the higher-ranked Schwenningen (#6, 14-11) being unquestionably team leader. Ehingen’s 14th position in the standings has not changed. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Ehingen managed to get this year. Pagenkopf is a newcomer at Ehingen and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Trevor Lacey (188-SG-91) of top-ranked Rostock. Lacey showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, five rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of Rostock, leading his team to a 95-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Karlsruhe PS (#11, 9-14). Rostock confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 21 victories and 6 lost games. Lacey has a very solid season. In 9 games in Germany he scored 16.4ppg. He also has 4.8rpg, 5.6apg and and 3PT: 46.6%.
