Martin Odegaard has now officially signed for Arsenal, and we are showing fans just why the club are so keen.
Mikel Arteta knows that he is lacking creativity in the middle of that pitch and has been looking for the right player to come in and offer the side something different, which Odegaard will manage to achieve.
It was only a few days ago that news broke that he wanted to leave Madrid, and after a few days of talks, Arsenal managed to agree a £2.5 million deal to bring the talented man to the club, at least until the end of the season.
And just in case many of you fans have not seen the lad play, we have picked a video below that will show you just some of the quality that he has in that young head of his, COURTESY OF SPORTS MOMENTS
Erling Haaland has praised his fellow Norwegian Martin Odegaard’s loan move to Arsenal.
Odegaard is a young player that has become frustrated at the Bernabeu for his lack of game time under Zinedine Zidane this season, and opted to make a move away this transfer window rather than sit on the bench.
The Gunners announced the arrival of the 22-year-old midfielder on Wedesnday having agreed a deal to take him from Real Madrid for the rest of the season, and The Borussia Dortmund striker says his countryman can make incredible things happen and hopes he is given the game time to shine at the Emirates.
Speaking to Norwegian news outlet VG, Haaland said: “It will be interesting. Arsenal are a big club in England. “It’s a bit different football, but I think he can fit in well with Mikel Arteta in the No10 role.
“He can enjoy himself there. He has to get in there and simply start playing games.
“That’s what he needs. We know how good Odegaard can be.
“When he gains confidence with the ball, we know that the most incredible things can happen.”
Mikel Arteta has told fans that Martin Odegaard has qualities that his current Arsenal side have been missing.
Once hailed as the next superstar in the game, Odegaard has not been given the chances to shine in that Madrid side that he would have liked over the past few seasons and it ended up with him asking the club for a move away this January.
Arsenal were the only club that really wanted to get the midfielder all signed up, and after a few days of talks, they managed to agree a £2.5 million deal with the Spaniards to acquire the midfielder until the end of the season.
It is no secret that Arteta has been lacking a player like him in that midfield this season, and the boss opened up and revealed just why the club were so keen to wrap up a transfer deal before a Premier League rival came calling
Arteta on Odegaard: “I’ve followed him very closely because he played for Real Sociedad, which is my hometown.
“I know him really well. I’ve been really impressed. He’s a such a talent. He needs the right environment, he needs a little bit of time but I think he’s got the qualities to be a success for us.

“We believe that he’s got some special qualities that we need, that we have been missing.
“He hasn’t played that many minutes in Madrid but he’s been training hard and he looks so excited, as we are, to have another big talent at our club.”
Guillem Balague claims that Arsenal will already be planning keep hold of Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid this summer.
Ceballos has been at the Emirates for a couple of seasons now and has become a firm fixture in the middle of the park for Mikel Arteta, despite the fact that he is only on loan from Madrid.
Martin Odegaard was only signed by Arsenal this month after news broke that he is keen to make the move away from Madrid, and he decided that a move to the Emirates would be the idea place to try and kickstart his career.
And when asked why Odegaard’s loan to Arsenal makes sense, Balague claimed that the midfielder will have been promised certain amounts of game, and that the club will already be planning to enter into talks at the end of the season on a permanent deal, with the same being said for Dani Ceballos.
Balague told his official YouTube channel: “The reason why [Odegaard] is going to Arsenal, I don’t know this for certain but it’s logical that Arteta said he will play.
“The second reason, because I think Arsenal will try to talk to Real Madrid about both Odegaard and Ceballos at the end of the season.
“Odegaard has got a plan to go back to Real Madrid, but maybe he feels that another year away will help.”
Look, Odegaard is a very special player that does have the ability to become a top player in the game, so the fact that Arsenal have snapped him up, is a very good bit of business by the club.
And if they are planning to keep hold of Ceballos, he needs to show more than he has in that Arsenal shirt, he doesnt create many chances or score many goals, his numbers are pretty poor for a player that plays pretty much every week
