Mohamed Salah “seems a bit sloppy” and has been “off it” of late for Liverpool, says former Reds midfielder Don Hutchison
Despite being a big part of the Liverpool squad and a major player for Jurgen Klopp, There has been some shock speculation in the media over the past few days which have suggested that Salah is eager to leave the club.
Salah has hinted that he would be open to linking up with Barcelona or Real Madrid at some stage in the future, with exit doors being left ajar at Anfield, and Liverpool have been told that they need to sign a superstar as a replacement for the attacker.
But it is his performances on the pitch that has been worrying Hutchison, who believes renewed speculation is proving to be an unwelcome distraction for Salah, with his recent displays not as productive as Liverpool would expect.
He told Optus Sport on the back of a goalless draw away at Newcastle: “I think he is world class. But he frustrates you when you watch him play, and not just with his finishing.
“It’s the simple things, he doesn’t complete a 10-yard pass, he seems a bit sloppy, bit casual.
“Sometimes he upsets the flow of Liverpool. He can give a ball away and Liverpool have to start again.
“Maybe the noises of Real and Barca may have affected him a little – but he seems off it.”
This is not the kind of headlines that Liverpool want to see when they are chasing that Premier League title, and they certainly cannot see one of their best players look so sluggish on the pitch.
They need Salah, so fans will be hoping that all the speculation hasnt gone to his head.
