Experienced Laurynas Bareika (03) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kedainiu SC and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 17-year old had the game-high 39 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Kedainiu as his team lost the game against Tornado KM (#7, 3-5) 88-94. Kedainiu moved-up to the 9th position in Lithuanian U18 League. The season is still in it’s early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 6 games and had just two victories. Bareika turned to be Kedainiu’s top player in his first season with the team. Bareika has impressive league stats. He is league’s best scorer averaging so far 23.8ppg. Bareika is in league’s top in rebounds (7th best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 3.5spg and 54.3% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 16-year old Gediminas Alisas (194-SF-04) of second-ranked Sostines. Alisas impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Sostines cruised to a 91-80 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Siauliu (#8, 2-6). Sostines’ second position in the standings has not changed. He plays for the best team in the league and Sostines managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Alisas is a newcomer at Sostines and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.6ppg (#5). He also registered 12.4 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was Augustas Gaivenis (F-03) of Panevezio (#5). Gaivenis showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Gaivenis’ great performance Panevezio lost 74-75 to the higher-ranked Vilniaus KM I (#1, 8-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Panevezio ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gaivenis could help Panevezio to bring them higher in the standings. Gaivenis has a great season in Lithuania. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 23.1ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (6th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
