The Regular Season in KLS is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Top ranked Mladost ZE (24-2) recorded its second loss in Zemun on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by seventh ranked Dynamic VP (13-12) 110-108. It ended at the same time the 22-game winning streak of Mladost ZE. Dynamic VP made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Mladost ZE helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Bojan Tomasevic (200-1) who scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Miroslav Pasajlic (191-95) chipped in 24 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was French Stephane Gombauld (205-97, agency: Slash Sports) who recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dynamic VP have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tamis. Mladost ZE at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Dynamic VP is looking forward to face higher ranked Novi Pazar (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mladost ZE will play against Metalac in Valjevo and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Uzice. Seventh ranked Dynamic VP (13-12) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Sloboda U. (14-13) 107-105 on Saturday evening. It was a good game for guard Vuk Djordjevic (196-91) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Miroslav Pasajlic contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Aleksa Ilic (205-0) answered with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Sloboda U.Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dynamic VP have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tamis. Sloboda U. at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Dynamic VP will play against higher ranked Novi Pazar (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sloboda U. will play against OKK Beograd and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Zlatibor (17-10) against ninth ranked Kolubara (10-15) on Wednesday night. Visiting Zlatibor was defeated by Kolubara in a tough game in Lazarevac 90-97. It was a great evening for Nikola Simic who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was Dusan Kutlesic with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Zlatibor’s coach Strajin Nedovic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Despite that victory Kolubara went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with OKK Beograd. Zlatibor lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost. Kolubara will meet at home Sloga (#12) in the next round. Zlatibor will play against Tamis (#6) and hope to secure a win.
The game in Vrsac was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Vojvodina NS (23-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Vrsac (11-13). Vojvodina NS did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-82. It was an exceptional evening for Nikola Gacesa who led the winners and scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vojvodina NS have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain second place with 23-3 record behind leader Mladost ZE. Vrsac at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Vojvodina NS’s next round opponent will be Tamis (#6) in Pancevo. Vrsac will play on the road against OKK Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Sixteenth-ranked Pirot (7-18) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Novi Pazar (16-9) on Saturday. Novi Pazar managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Patrick Donald who scored 21 points and 9 assists. Novi Pazar’s coach Darko Kostic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Novi Pazar. They maintain fourth place with 16-9 record. Pirot lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Novi Pazar will face Dynamic VP (#7) in Belgrade in the next round. Pirot will play at home against Napredak (#9) and hope to win that game.

Other games of round 27 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Zlatibor defeated Radnicki KG in Cajetina 84-80. Sloga beat Dunav SB at home 95-83. Kolubara was destroyed by Tamis on the opponent’s court 112-84. Napredak managed to outperform Metalac in a home game 83-69. Tamis managed to beat Dunav SB on the road 93-82. Sloga was defeated by OKK Beograd on its own court 80-93. Sloboda U. beat Napredak in Uzice 83-81.
The best stats of 27th round was 28 points and 6 rebounds by Slaven Cupkovic of Sloga.


Sloboda U. – Dynamic VP 105-107

Important game to mention about took place in Uzice. Seventh ranked Dynamic VP (13-12) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Sloboda U. (14-13) 107-105 on Saturday evening. Sloboda U. was ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 62-52 second half run of Dynamic VP. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Sloboda U. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Vuk Djordjevic (196-91) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Miroslav Pasajlic (191-95) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Aleksa Ilic (205-0) answered with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Aleksa Stepanovic (206-98) added 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Sloboda U.Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. There was no surprise in Kragujevac where 10th ranked Radnicki KG (10-16) was defeated by third ranked Zlatibor (17-10) 84-80 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Radnicki KG won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Radnicki KG was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Petar Vorkapic (193-95) who scored 18 points and 6 assists. American forward Brandon McCoy (213-98, college: UNLV) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Zlatibor’s coach Strajin Nedovic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Andreja Stevanovic (195-95) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists and American guard Trey McBride (188, college: Northwood) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively. Four Radnicki KG players scored in double figures. Zlatibor maintains third place with 17-10 record having six points less than leader Mladost ZE. Newly promoted Radnicki KG dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Zlatibor will face Tamis (#6) in Pancevo in the next round. The game in Vrsac was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Vojvodina NS (23-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Vrsac (11-13). Vojvodina NS did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-82. The game without a history. Vojvodina NS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.0 percent from the field. Vojvodina NS shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Dusan Beslac (205-98) accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Vojvodina NS players scored in double figures. Stefan Zivanovic (195-89) came up with 18 points and 4 assists and American power forward Brandon Peterson (203-90, college: Arkansas St.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Vrsac in the defeat. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-82. Novi Pazar forced 21 Pirot turnovers. The best player for the winners was Australian Patrick Donald who scored 21 points and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Kolubara – Zlatibor 97-90

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Zlatibor (17-10) against ninth ranked Kolubara (10-15) on Wednesday night. Visiting Zlatibor was defeated by Kolubara in a tough game in Lazarevac 90-97. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 36-25 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kolubara made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Kolubara looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Nikola Simic (191-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Power forward Mladen Vitkovic (198-90) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kolubara players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Dusan Kutlesic (200-94) with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Dragoslav Papic (204-87) scored 21 points. Zlatibor’s coach Strajin Nedovic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Despite that victory Kolubara went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with OKK Beograd. Zlatibor lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the third place with ten games lost. Kolubara will meet at home Sloga (#12) in the next round. Zlatibor will play against Tamis (#6) and hope to secure a win.
