Forward Ivan Belousov (199-F-01) put on an amazing game in the last round for Zenit-2, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 19-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, five rebounds and five assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Parma-2 (#8, 14-14) with 44-point margin 95-51. Zenit-2 maintains the 3rd position in Russian VTB-Youth League. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Zenit-2 will need more victories to improve their 18-12 record. In the team’s last game Belousov had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It’s his second year at Zenit-2 and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Ivan Belousov has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 15.2ppg).
The second best player in last round’s games was 20-year old Denis Myshalov (210-C) of Runa-2. Myshalov had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Runa-2 cruised to a 73-64 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Avtodor-2 (#7, 15-15). Runa-2’s 10th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 11-17 record. Myshalov is a newcomer at Runa-2 and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third on the list of top players last round was another Zenit-2’s star – center Dmitriy Ivanov (198-C-01). Ivanov scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds. He was another key player of Zenit-2, helping his team with a 95-51 easy win against the lower-ranked Parma-2 (#8, 14-14). Zenit-2 needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 12 lost games. Ivanov has a great season in Russia. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 5.8ppg (5th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
