Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Poles who are currently playing abroad.
   #1. This week’s number one is an international forward Mateusz Ponitka (198-93, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help Zenit (13-8) in their last game. Despite Ponitka’s good performance Zenit lost 81-85 on the road to the leading FC Barcelona.
He recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in 33 minutes on the court.
This year Ponitka averages: 8.4ppg, 4.8rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 58.2%(39-67), 3FGP: 35.6% and FT: 79.7% in 21 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the Polish senior national team.
   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (214-90, currently plays in Italy). Wojciechowski led Biella to a victory against the tenth-ranked Treviglio (4-7) 95-83 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Thursday.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds. Wojciechowski also added 4 assists.
Edilnol Pallacanestro Biellais placed first in Group A.
Wojciechowski’s overall stats this season are: 9.9ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 63.1%(41-65), 3FGP: 17.2% and FT: 61.1%.
He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Italian.
Wojciechowski played for the Polish national team in 2018.

   #3. The Polish player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international shooting guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, agency: BeoBasket, college: WKU, currently plays in Spain). He was not able to help Gran Canaria in their last game. Despite Slaughter’s very good performance Gran Canaria was crushed 102-81 in Madrid by the much lower-ranked (#15) Baloncesto Fuenlabrada.
He was the top scorer with 23 points. Slaughter also added 3 assists in 22 minutes.
Slaughter has relatively good stats this year: 12.2ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.9apg, 1.3spg, 3FGP: 30.2% and FT: 77.3% in nine games.
He is a naturalized American.
Slaughter is also a member of the Polish senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Poland.

   #4. Forward Tomasz Gielo (205-93, college: Ole Miss, currently plays in EuroCup) was the major contributor in Andorra‘s victory against the fourth-ranked Gran Canaria (0-3) 66-63 in the Eurocup last Wednesday.
Gielo scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes.
MoraBanc Andorra (2-1) is placed second in group H.
There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical.
This year Gielo’s overall stats are: 7.9ppg and 2.6rpg in 10 games.
He is also Polish national team player.

   #5. Former international guard David Logan (184-82, college: Indianapolis, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for one of league’s weakest teams Treviso (3-3) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Logan’s very good performance Treviso was defeated 82-77 at home by the leading Armani Milano.
He was the top scorer with 19 points.
Logan has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.4spg.
Logan is a naturalized American.
He used to play for the Polish national team
twelve years ago.
Logan played also for WTK Anwil Wloclawek in Polish league.

   #6. Forward Adam Waczynski (199-89, currently plays in EuroCup) couldn’t help Unicaja Malaga (0-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Unicaja Malaga (0-3) lost 83-92 in Nanterre to the higher-ranked (#3) JSF Nanterre in the group E of Eurocup.
Waczynski scored 12 points in 25 minutes.
So far Unicaja Malaga lost all three games in the Top 16.
There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game is very crucial.
It’s Waczynski’s fifth season with the team.
This year his total stats are: 8.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.3apg in 13 games.
Waczynski is a former international player as he played for the Polish senior team two years ago.

   #7. International swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92, currently plays in Italy) is a teammate of previously mentioned David Logan and both played together in the last Italian Serie A game.
Sokolowski couldn’t help one of league’s weakest teams Treviso (3-3) in their game against Armani Milano (6-0). Despite his very good performance last Sunday He scored 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
This season Sokolowski has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.1apg.
He is also Polish national team player.

   #8. Small forward Jaroslaw Zyskowski (203-92, currently plays in Spain) couldn’t help Bilbao (4-16) in their game against Zaragoza (7-13) in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
He scored 7 points in 17 minutes.
Bilbao was crushed 96-73 on their home court in Bilbao by the higher-ranked (#12) Zaragoza.
It was Bilbao’s third consecutive loss in a row.
Zyskowski has averaged so far 8.9ppg and 2.4rpg in 18 games.
He plays currently for the Polish national team.

   #9. Former international shooting guard Dardan Berisha (191-88, currently plays in Kosovo) led Peja to a victory over the closely-ranked Bashkimi (9-9) crushing them 95-58 in the Kosovan Superliga last Wednesday.
Berisha was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!).
KB Peja (12-6) is placed second in the Superliga.
This season Berisha has very high stats. He averages: 19.7ppg, 5.9rpg and 4.3apg.
Berisha used to play for the Polish national team
six years ago.

   #10. Center Aleksander Balcerowski (217-0, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned A.J. Slaughter and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game.
Balcerowski couldn’t help Gran Canaria in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (6-13). He cannot count Saturday’s game as one of the best ones.
Balcerowski scored only 2 points.
Gran Canaria was crushed 102-81 in Madrid by the much lower-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#15).
Balcerowski has averaged so far 4.8ppg and 2.4rpg.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Polish National Team roster.

   #11. U18 international small forward Jeremy Sochan (204-3, currently plays in Germany) contributed to OrangeAcademy‘s victory against the fifth-ranked Koblenz 73-63 in the German ProB (third division) last Sunday.
Sochan scored 13 points, had 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 35 minutes.
Sochan has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 1.6apg, 1.3bpg and 1.1spg in 14 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Sochan plays currently for the Polish U18 national team.
Apparently he has never played in Poland.

   #12. Former U16 international swingman Piotr Pandura (197-95, currently plays in Holland) couldn’t help Hague in their game against Den Bosch in the Dutch DBL. Despite his good performance on Saturday night Pandura was the second best scorer with 10 points.
Pandura has averaged so far 4.0ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.3spg.
He used to play for the Polish U16 national team
back in 2011.

   #13. Former international forward Maciej Bender (211-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn’t help the Mercer in their game against the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in the NCAA.
Bender scored 9 points in 20 minutes.
His team lost 68-81.
Bender has reliable stats this year: 12.1ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.7bpg in 15 games.
He used to play for the Polish national team
five years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Polish passport but never been selected to any of Polish national teams:

   #1. Juan Pablo Vaulet (198-SF-96, currently plays in Spain) led La ICL Manresa to a victory against the closely-ranked UCAM Murcia (8-10) 103-93 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Tuesday night’s game.
Vaulet recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 3 steals.
BAXI Manresa (10-10) is placed eighth in the Liga Endesa.
Vaulet’s overall stats this season are: 8.4ppg and 4.3rpg.
He has a dual citizenship: Polish and Argentinian.

   #2. Yovel Zoosman (200-G/F-98, currently plays in Euroleague). Zoosman could not help Maccabi T-A (10-12) to beat Fenerbahce (13-10).
He recorded 5 points in 11 minutes.
Maccabi T-A lost 75-82 on the road to the higher-ranked (#8) Fenerbahce.
Zoosman has been at the team for six years.
Zoosman has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 1.5rpg in 10 games he played so far.
He is another player who holds two passports: Polish and Israeli.

   #3. Nimrod Tishman (197-PG-91, agency: Avi Zilberman, currently plays in Israel) was not able to help one of league’s weakest teams M.Rishon in their game against H.Beer Sheva (6-5) in the Israeli Winner League.
Tishman scored 7 points and added 5 passes.
M.Rishon was defeated 70-62 at home by the higher-ranked H.Beer Sheva (#7).
Tishman has averaged so far 2.2ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.5apg.
He has both Polish and Israeli nationalities.
Despite Tishman’s Polish passport, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Polish team.

   #4. Santiago Vaulet (194-SG-98, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Penarol (16-0) in their game against Obras (18-0) in the Argentinian La Liga.
Vaulet recorded 9 points and had 4 steals in 22 minutes.
But Penarol (#4) lost 72-78 on their home court in Mar del Plata to the second-ranked Obras in the South group.
The Regular Season already ended.
Vaulet has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 3.4rpg in 22 games.
He also holds two passports: Argentinian and Polish.
Despite Vaulet’s Polish nationality, he previously played for the Argentinian U21 national team and probably cannot be called to the Polish team.

   #5. Experienced Oded Brandwein (179-PG-88, currently plays in Israel) couldn’t help Hapoel Holon (6-4) in their game against H.Haifa (7-3) in the Israeli Winner League.
Brandwein scored 9 points.
But Hapoel Holon was defeated 96-85 on the opponent’s court by the higher-ranked H.Haifa (#4).
It’s Brandwein’s first season with the team.
He has averaged so far 6.5ppg and 2.3apg.
Brandwein has Polish and Israeli nationalities.
Despite his Polish passport, Brandwein previously played for the Israeli U20 national team.

   #6. David Brembly (197-G/F-93, currently plays in Germany) couldn’t help MBC in their game against EnBW Ludwigsburg in the German BBL.
He scored 7 points in 19 minutes.
His team lost 80-93.
Brembly has averaged so far 7.0ppg and 2.0rpg in 13 games.
He has Polish and German nationalities.
Despite Brembly’s Polish passport, he previously played for the German university national team.

   #7. Gal Gilinski (195-PG-95, also represented by Avi Zilberman, currently plays in Israel) couldn’t help Ironi Nahariya in their game against Hapoel Holon in the Israeli Winner League. Gilinski cannot count Wednesday’s game as one of the best ones.
He scored only 2 points.
His team was crushed by 22 points 98-76.
This season Gilinski averages just 2.3ppg.
He holds both Polish and Israeli passports.

   #8. Julian Jasinski (201-C/F-96, currently plays in Germany) couldn’t help SparkassenStars in their game against Koeln in the German ProB (third division). Jasinski cannot count Sunday’s game as one of the best ones.
He scored only one point, had 11 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 20 minutes.
His team lost 82-94.
Jasinski has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 4.6rpg in nine games.
He has Polish and German nationalities.

   #9. Krzysztof Kawalek (196-F-86, currently plays in Austria) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Nord Dragonz crushing them 98-73 in the Austrian 2.Bundesliga (second division) in Saturday night’s game.
Kawalek scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Kawalek has averaged so far 4.4ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.8spg.

   #10. Gregory Tchernev-Rowland (202-C-1, currently plays in Iceland) managed to help Selfoss karfa in a victory against the fourth-ranked Sindri crushing them 99-71 in the Icelandic D1 (second division) last Friday.
He scored only one point in 5 minutes on the court.
This year Tchernev-Rowland averages only 0.3ppg in three games.
He holds both Polish and British passports.
